ANDREW STANNARD DESIGN + BUILD is a small, independent, design-led building practice.  Our work includes interesting contemporary extensions and new build projects, as well as schemes that bring new life to historic and listed buildings.  We aim to create spaces to enjoy and inspire.  We enjoy using new technology where this can benefit our buildings and their inhabitants. 

Whatever the project, we enjoy bringing design flair, sensitivity and expertise to our work.  We are dedicated to ensuring that all projects, however big or small, are designed and completed to the highest possible standards.  We want our clients to find working with us, through the design and build process, an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

New Zealand born Andrew Stannard has worked in construction in many countries around the world.  This has given him an open minded and inspiring approach to design and the materials used – and a belief that our surroundings directly influence the quality of our lives.

Andrew started out designing and building his own home in Tanzania.  After leaving Africa he focused on the construction aspect of building, gaining a great knowledge of materials and the architectural process involved in the build. 

His enthusiasm for creating beautiful spaces led him to persue the architectural side of building.  He then began working alongside architects; collaborating on projects and developing his love of design.  Since then Andrew has established his own design and building practice; working on small residential and commercial projects.
